Magnificent antique Bakhtiar rug from West of Iran. Tree of life design with pigeons on top and beautifully coloured Cypress trees on either side on a cream background. The royal blue in the border gives the perfect background to the colourful flower heads. The handspun wool in this Persian rug has such wonderful velvety feel, which has been achieved through ageing with the natural dyes’ aid throughout the piece—a wonderful example of Bakhtiari artistry at its best.
