Charming antique Kurdish carpet from West of Iran. A beautiful blue ground is decorated with five diamond medallions, each containing a cross. The field is decorated with stylised fish. There a few rather charming primitive drawings of men and women. Guard borders contain small flowers, and the main border has larger flowers on a red background. The wool is very soft and shiny, and the depth of colour is due to the quality of wool and the natural dyes that have been used in dying them. It has a good pile throughout.
