Charming antique Bakhtiari Lori Chanteh from Tribes of West Iran. The wool from this area is soft and has a perfect sheen. The dyes have a certain depth to them, which is enhanced by the fact that they use natural dyes, as can be seen in this piece. This Chanteh has been woven using a triple technique. The back section is a flatweave technique, and then the midsection is piled carpet. The front is woven finely using a sumack technique, with stylised bird design and lozenges.
Some moth damage to the inside of the bag or the back of it as it is now.
