Unusual antique Shahsavan rug from the tribes in Saveh Central Iran. It is not often that you find Shahsavans with this design. The all-over design cartouches contain stylised flower heads on a navy-grey background. There are stylised cypress trees in between. There is an abrush at one end, which adds a lot of character to the piece. The cream border containing tulips brings the whole piece together.
