Fascinating vintage Baluch bag from Northeast of Iran. Baluch pieces of importance have always been sought after by collectors. We believe this falls into that category, as it has so many amusing features. The multicoloured tufts at one end would indicate that the weaver weaved this piece as part of her dowery. The other subtle feature to notice is the rams horn design on a red kilim band just underneath the tufts. At the other end, there is a different motif on a finely woven black background. The bag is made using the Baluchis’ typical saturated red and blue colours with high-quality soft wool. There is a goat in each corner and flowerheads scattered around the middle.
