Appealing vintage Ensi Turkmen rug. Classical Turkmen colours in this Ensi design, which some people call Pardeh, as it is sometimes used to hang over a tent’s entrance. However, this piece seems to be a prayer mat, as it is too small to hang over the entrance of a tent, and more importantly, it has a prayer niche at one end. There are strong abrushes in the filed, which make this piece that much more interesting and characterful. It is very finely woven.
