Jijims are usually woven in stripes and very rarely found in this tartan-like design. The wool and the dyes used in this piece are of very high quality. The excellent quality of weave and the border’s quality suggest that an experienced weaver worked on it. Notice the beautiful way the fringes are finished, which also helps to secure the jijim. This piece has been woven in two pieces and then sewed together. The excellent quality would make this an ideal purchase for a collector.
