This exquisite antique Kordi carpet is a rare and visually captivating example of Persian tribal artistry. Originating from Western Iran, it features a striking blue field adorned with delicate abrushes, which create a painterly depth reminiscent of shifting light across a sea. Floating across this backdrop are three elegantly rendered soft red medallions, providing symmetry and visual balance.

Charming tribal motifs, including a whimsical camel, small floral accents, and the symbolic Mahi (fish) design in the red spandrels, enrich the narrative of the piece. The wide geometric red border provides strong framing and contrast, drawing the eye inward and enhancing the vibrant color play.

Woven by hand using natural dyes and high-quality wool, this piece embodies the refined skills of Kordi weavers. Though minor areas have been expertly repiled, the integrity and overall aesthetic remain exceptional. Ideal for collectors or interiors in need of a statement piece, this antique Persian carpet brings heritage, texture, and grandeur to any setting.

I have no hesitation in recommending Sharifi & Co. He is an expert on carpets and kilims and clearly loves and appreciates them. His company washed, repaired and moth proofed my beautiful Uzbek kilim within a very short time. Thank you very much Sharifi & Co.

It was a great pleasure doing business with Mr. Sharafi, he knows and loves rugs and that is reflected in the excellent work he has done restoring and repairing mine. They’re looking lovely (and I promise I’ll take good care of them!) Thank you.

Looking for someone who specialises in cleaning persian rugs is like walking a minefield. Thank goodness I found Sharafi. I knew I was on the right track when I heard the National Trust gets their antique rugs done there. Ok no more drinking red wine on valuable heirloom…
