This elegant antique Kashan rug is a masterpiece of Persian textile artistry, woven in Central Iran, a region renowned for its refined weaving tradition and exceptional craftsmanship. Its pictorial niche design and remarkable attention to detail make it a rare and highly collectible piece.
At the heart of the rug is a central architectural motif—a beautifully depicted building framed within a rose garland, symbolizing beauty, love, and heritage. This tranquil image is set inside a classic mihrab (niche) structure, complete with ornate pillars on either side and a vase of flowers at the base, creating a layered, almost three-dimensional effect that evokes depth and reverence.
The border is especially noteworthy, combining roses, chrysanthemums, and delicate birds—a combination not often found together in Kashan designs. These elements add a lyrical, almost poetic charm to the composition, elevating it from decorative to truly artistic.
Woven from fine wool with natural dyes, the rug is in excellent condition, making it not only a stunning decorative element but also an exceptional investment for serious collectors.

I have no hesitation in recommending Sharifi & Co. He is an expert on carpets and kilims and clearly loves and appreciates them. His company washed, repaired and moth proofed my beautiful Uzbek kilim within a very short time. Thank you very much Sharifi & Co.

It was a great pleasure doing business with Mr. Sharafi, he knows and loves rugs and that is reflected in the excellent work he has done restoring and repairing mine. They’re looking lovely (and I promise I’ll take good care of them!) Thank you.

Looking for someone who specialises in cleaning persian rugs is like walking a minefield. Thank goodness I found Sharafi. I knew I was on the right track when I heard the National Trust gets their antique rugs done there. Ok no more drinking red wine on valuable heirloom…
