This unusual vintage Hamedan rug is an exceptional example of the region’s vast design repertoire. While Hamedan rugs are known for their variety, this particular piece stands out even within that diversity — a true one-of-a-kind.

At the base of the rug, two oversized botehs (paisley motifs) flank a central stem, which rises and transforms into a striking stylised blue tree — a powerful symbol of life and growth. Interwoven within the design are charming stylised fish and additional botehs, all executed in a bold tribal style that carries symbolic depth.
