Carpets from Bakhshayesh village in Northwest Iran have invariably attractive designs and are decorative. This is reflected in this carpet with subtle, unusual elements. The rich red ground colour contains a large red medallion. The motifs around the medallion have unusual features, like the multicoloured branches coming out of the flowers next to the spandrels. This subtle unusualness in the motif is also repeated in a pair of blue leaves on either side of the medallion. The mustard-coloured spandrels bring a harmonious hue of colour into the carpet that adds to its attractiveness. The blue border contains stylised flower heads, which are unusually flanked by stems of flowers. This excellent carpet with many exciting and decorative elements will add so much to any room.
