his authentic antique Baluch rug from Northeast Iran is a prime example of tribal craftsmanship, showcasing a combination of historical tradition, artistic integrity, and enduring quality.

Woven entirely on a wool foundation, the rug features soft, shiny wool that reflects its high material quality. The blue and purple field, rich with subtle abrushes (natural colour variations), is adorned with the Minakhani gul pattern—an iconic design consisting of interlinked flower motifs symbolising abundance and harmony.

Framing the field is a striking red border, decorated with ram’s horn and flower head motifs, symbolising strength, protection, and fertility. These tribal symbols not only enrich the aesthetic but also connect the piece to its cultural heritage.

This rug is in very good condition, with its full pile intact—a rare attribute for antique Baluch rugs. Its age, preservation, and visual appeal make it a wonderful collector’s piece, while its character and softness make it equally suited for interior use as a decorative floor rug or wall hanging.
