Impressive antique Heriz carpet from Northwest of Iran. Striking medallion on a terracotta ground field and aqua blue spandrels surrounded with a blue geometric border. The small green, pink, and olive colours give this piece an exceptional colour balance that makes it very decorative. Heriz in larger sizes are less common than the smaller ones and very sought after; hence they attract a premium. There are areas of repiling that have been done expertly.
