A beautifully drawn antique Khamseh long carpet from the tribes of South Iran. The blue ground has many interesting characters. It is scattered with stylised bushes, flower heads, women and chicken amongst other motifs, with cream latticed spandrels. The field is framed with two guard borders, one multicoloured with small lattices with flower heads. The main red border contains a paisley design with larger flower heads. There is “Vst” woven into the back of the rug, which could be the initials of one of the owners or maybe even a dealer. This is a beautiful example of tribal weaving.

I have no hesitation in recommending Sharifi & Co. He is an expert on carpets and kilims and clearly loves and appreciates them. His company washed, repaired and moth proofed my beautiful Uzbek kilim within a very short time. Thank you very much Sharifi & Co.

It was a great pleasure doing business with Mr. Sharafi, he knows and loves rugs and that is reflected in the excellent work he has done restoring and repairing mine. They’re looking lovely (and I promise I’ll take good care of them!) Thank you.

Looking for someone who specialises in cleaning persian rugs is like walking a minefield. Thank goodness I found Sharafi. I knew I was on the right track when I heard the National Trust gets their antique rugs done there. Ok no more drinking red wine on valuable heirloom…
