Description
Rare Antique Ghazan Saruk carpet from Central Iran. The well balanced open floral design on a royal blue ground with a soft floral border makes this piece not only very attractive but decorative. The signature in two places is”Ghaza”. Ghazan was a company that commissioned carpets in the late 19th Century. They were mainly in Kashan, but they did commission works in Farahan and Kirman, Tabriz, and Saruk. The unusual size of this rug makes it very useful. It is low in places, which is not unusual for a piece of this age.
