Impressive Bakhtiar rug. This is a design from an antique Bakhtiar carpet. A large flower in the centre of the carpet with stems shooting out opposite ends adorned with flower heads on a cream background. Large stylised flowers surrounding the centre motif and four large light blue boteh designs in each corner are brought together with a pretty rose border with stylised flowers. The lovely deep shades of colour are achieved using natural dyes in dying of this high-quality wool piece. This is a very sturdy rug—a wonderful example of modern weaving using traditional techniques and methods.
