Charming vintage Shiraz rug with soft, shiny handspun wool in dying of which natural dyes have been used. The Hashtgol (8 paisleys) medallion in repeated in each corner. Each Hashtgol has a stylised Ahora Mazda (Zorastrian Supreme God) motif sitting on it. While the corner pieces are usually the same colour in this piece, they are diametrically the same. The field is decorated with animal motifs, and a geometric cream border frames it. The end motifs bring the whole design to together and make it the special piece that it is.
