This decorative vintage Afghan kilim is a wonderful example of older Afghan weaving, showcasing a neutral and versatile color palette of light grey, grey, and cream. The design features traditional bands of guls and chequered patterns, all elegantly framed by a star cream border, giving the piece timeless charm and balance.

What sets this kilim apart is the rare weaving technique used at both ends. The two cream bands have been executed differently from the rest of the kilim — a highly unusual feature in Afghan weaving, making this rug not only beautiful but also distinctive and collectible.

Woven from natural wool in undyed and soft tones, this flatweave offers both durability and understated elegance, making it suitable for modern, minimalist, or traditional interiors alike. It’s a piece that carries both cultural heritage and decorative versatility, sure to enhance any space.

I have no hesitation in recommending Sharifi & Co. He is an expert on carpets and kilims and clearly loves and appreciates them. His company washed, repaired and moth proofed my beautiful Uzbek kilim within a very short time. Thank you very much Sharifi & Co.

It was a great pleasure doing business with Mr. Sharafi, he knows and loves rugs and that is reflected in the excellent work he has done restoring and repairing mine. They’re looking lovely (and I promise I’ll take good care of them!) Thank you.

Looking for someone who specialises in cleaning persian rugs is like walking a minefield. Thank goodness I found Sharafi. I knew I was on the right track when I heard the National Trust gets their antique rugs done there. Ok no more drinking red wine on valuable heirloom…
