Beautiful antique Baluch Rug from Northeast of Iran. This is an excellent example of maturing colours in an antique piece, which is one reason that antique pieces are more sought after. The depth of colour and beautiful red hues in this piece can be seen in the images due to the high-quality wool, natural dyes and the ageing process. The three eight-sided medallions usually seen in Turkmen carpets are framed with a pretty geometric border on a terracotta background. There is some oxidation in places giving rise to some light wear, as shown in images. This piece is in very good condition for its age.
