Fine Isfahan carpets are about elegance and a very high standard of execution. This piece is a prime example of it. Using the highest quality dyes and wool, the workshop has produced this fine carpet, 80 raj, which is well over a million knots per square meter. The drawing is precise and clear, as expected from a piece of this calibre. The scrolling vines and flower heads are projected beautifully on the cream background with an elegant, rich red medallion and indigo-blue spandrels. The multiple borders with the prominent red border bring the whole piece together. This is a fine example of the highest-quality weaving.
