This is a sweet antique Isfehan pictorial rug from Central Iran. The subject is Madonna and the Child. The drawing is very graceful, with a choice of colours that make the design stand out beautifully, using natural dyes throughout. The selvedges are silk, and parts have been redone—a good piece for a collector.
