Charming antique Qashqai Gahvareh Cradel from the tribes of South Iran. These pieces are rare to find, especially in such good condition. Gahvareh means cradel in Persian. The baby is put in the centre and the two side are attached to poles. The baby can be rocked with no chance of it being thrown off. The decoration are colourful and the ponpons on the three sides are pretty and would suggest that this piece was woven as a dowery by the bride. It is all woollen. They are woven in two separate pieces and sewn together.
