Decorative antique Varamin kilim from central Iran. The production of kilims from Varamin is modest, but invariably they are of high quality, and this piece is no exception. The unusual brown ground is decorated with lozenges smaller at the edges and framed with a zig-zag border. These kilims are usually very long and narrow, but this piece has a good width. A heavy kilim that sits nicely on the floor.
