Boroujen is a city in the Bakhtiari region, and it has average quality pieces, mainly woven in navy blue, with an all-over design. This piece is a particularly nice example of that city with a well above average weave and handspun wool in dying of which natural dyes have been used. The Herati or Mahi design really stands out against the navy blue background. The light blue border decorated with large flowers is very impressive. It is rare to find a piece from this city of this age in such good condition and look.
