This lovely vintage Turkman Tobreh bag from Northeast Iran is a beautiful example of tribal utility with elegant simplicity. Originally used by nomadic communities for storage and transport, this handwoven piece combines form and function with a stylish colour palette and refined motifs.

The bag features alternating bands of S and star designs, both traditional Turkman symbols thought to represent protection and guidance. These decorative elements are framed by blue-grey guard bands, which add a subtle contrast and define the composition with clarity.

The back is woven in a plain cream tone, providing balance to the more detailed front. The original locking tabs are intact, a rare and valuable feature that highlights the bag’s excellent condition and authenticity.
