This stunning Persian kilim draws its inspiration from the revered Shomal Jijims of northern Iran. Meticulously crafted using high-quality handspun wool and dyed with natural, plant-based pigments, this textile radiates with rich, deep hues and a lustrous sheen—hallmarks of the region’s master weaving traditions.
Unlike the larger-scale production of carpets, kilim and jijim weaving is a niche craft with a dwindling number of skilled artisans. Only a select few master weavers possess the expertise to achieve this level of finesse. The result is an exceptionally fine weave, allowing for crisp lines, perfect symmetry, and vibrant color interplay that feels like viewing a contemporary painting on fabric.
This kilim is constructed using a traditional strip-weaving technique, in which narrow panels are individually woven and then expertly stitched together. This method not only controls scale and design with precision but also celebrates the handmade authenticity of Persian textile art.
While many reproductions attempt to imitate this aesthetic, few achieve the artistic quality and structural integrity of this piece. Whether displayed on the floor or as a wall tapestry, it offers a modern visual elegance grounded in centuries of tradition, making it a one-of-a-kind centrepiece in any interior.

I have no hesitation in recommending Sharifi & Co. He is an expert on carpets and kilims and clearly loves and appreciates them. His company washed, repaired and moth proofed my beautiful Uzbek kilim within a very short time. Thank you very much Sharifi & Co.

It was a great pleasure doing business with Mr. Sharafi, he knows and loves rugs and that is reflected in the excellent work he has done restoring and repairing mine. They’re looking lovely (and I promise I’ll take good care of them!) Thank you.

Looking for someone who specialises in cleaning persian rugs is like walking a minefield. Thank goodness I found Sharafi. I knew I was on the right track when I heard the National Trust gets their antique rugs done there. Ok no more drinking red wine on valuable heirloom…
