Attractive Vintage Qashqai Shiraki Kilim – South Iran
This attractive vintage Qashqai Shiraki kilim from the tribes of South Iran is a striking example of tribal weaving with strong cultural roots. Originally used as tent entrances, Shiraki kilims were functional yet highly decorative items, reflecting the identity and artistry of the weavers.
The kilim features a small all-over lozenge design set against a warm tribal field. It is framed by a bold cream geometric border, adding definition and symmetry to the piece. At each end, rows of V-shaped motifs enhance the visual rhythm and structure, anchoring the design beautifully.
What truly sets this kilim apart is its multicoloured pompom fringes—a rare and joyful detail that adds a playful finish while showcasing the weaver’s creativity. The kilim was woven in two panels, then hand-stitched together, a typical construction method for Shiraki kilims. The result is a highly collectable textile that tells a story of nomadic life and craftsmanship.
Whether used as a wall hanging, decorative entrance panel, or accent textile, this piece brings heritage, colour, and personality into any space.

I have no hesitation in recommending Sharifi & Co. He is an expert on carpets and kilims and clearly loves and appreciates them. His company washed, repaired and moth proofed my beautiful Uzbek kilim within a very short time. Thank you very much Sharifi & Co.

It was a great pleasure doing business with Mr. Sharafi, he knows and loves rugs and that is reflected in the excellent work he has done restoring and repairing mine. They’re looking lovely (and I promise I’ll take good care of them!) Thank you.

Looking for someone who specialises in cleaning persian rugs is like walking a minefield. Thank goodness I found Sharafi. I knew I was on the right track when I heard the National Trust gets their antique rugs done there. Ok no more drinking red wine on valuable heirloom…
