This magnificent antique Kordi kilim originates from the western region of Iran, home to one of the most respected tribal weaving traditions. Crafted using wonderful natural dyes and handspun wool, this kilim reflects both the artistry and authenticity of Kordi craftsmanship.

The design showcases traditional tribal motifs, with randomly placed “S” symbols that add rhythm and individuality to the piece. Originally woven as a khorjin (saddlebag), it has been carefully opened up, transforming it into a highly decorative and unusual runner. This adaptability gives the piece a special charm, making it suitable as both a collector’s item and a functional interior accent.

Its vibrant natural dyes and unique design make this kilim a rare and striking textile, ideal for hallways, corridors, or layered as part of a stylish interior scheme. As with all genuine antique Kordi kilims, the weaving reflects centuries of cultural heritage, combining both durability and beauty.

I have no hesitation in recommending Sharifi & Co. He is an expert on carpets and kilims and clearly loves and appreciates them. His company washed, repaired and moth proofed my beautiful Uzbek kilim within a very short time. Thank you very much Sharifi & Co.

It was a great pleasure doing business with Mr. Sharafi, he knows and loves rugs and that is reflected in the excellent work he has done restoring and repairing mine. They’re looking lovely (and I promise I’ll take good care of them!) Thank you.

Looking for someone who specialises in cleaning persian rugs is like walking a minefield. Thank goodness I found Sharafi. I knew I was on the right track when I heard the National Trust gets their antique rugs done there. Ok no more drinking red wine on valuable heirloom…
