This magnificent antique Qasvin kilim originates from North Iran, specifically from the small town of Boen Zahra near Qasvin, which was once the capital of Iran. Qasvin kilims are highly admired for their artistry, and this example perfectly showcases the region’s exceptional weaving tradition.
The kilim features an all-over stylised boteh design on a royal blue background, beautifully contrasted by a warm terracotta surround. A striking yellow guard border frames the composition, further enhanced by a lively cream outer border, adding vibrancy and harmony to the overall piece.
Woven with fine-quality handspun wool and dyed with natural pigments, this kilim exemplifies the best of Persian kilim weaving. Its bold design, elegant colour palette, and meticulous craftsmanship make it a rare and highly decorative antique textile, ideal for collectors and interior designers alike.
Whether used as a floor covering, wall hanging, or statement accent, this kilim embodies the cultural richness and timeless artistry of Persian weaving traditions.

I have no hesitation in recommending Sharifi & Co. He is an expert on carpets and kilims and clearly loves and appreciates them. His company washed, repaired and moth proofed my beautiful Uzbek kilim within a very short time. Thank you very much Sharifi & Co.

It was a great pleasure doing business with Mr. Sharafi, he knows and loves rugs and that is reflected in the excellent work he has done restoring and repairing mine. They’re looking lovely (and I promise I’ll take good care of them!) Thank you.

Looking for someone who specialises in cleaning persian rugs is like walking a minefield. Thank goodness I found Sharafi. I knew I was on the right track when I heard the National Trust gets their antique rugs done there. Ok no more drinking red wine on valuable heirloom…
